The material in this chapter has been the source of much confusion and heated discusion among Christians, both theologians and those in the pew. The key to really understanding this chapter is the same as any other portion of God's word: let God do the interpretation and don't let presuppositions color your interpretation. When we have a true picture of our real sinfullness and God's Holiness, then the chapter becomes easier. God is God and we are sinners. Let God be God and see yourself in His Light. In ourselves we have absolutely nothing to offer God for our salvation. As has always been true, He is the One who chooses. Praise the Lord!
